PROPERTY VIEWING : Seamen’s House, Kadijksplein 17-18, Amsterdam, Netherlands. 1915.

Seamen’s House, Kadijksplein 17-18. The office. Architectenbureau Baanders, 1915.

Designed by a local firm, Architectenbureau Baanders, this retreat for Dutch seafarers provides rope processing lessons, sextant training on the foggy rooftop terrace, billiards and reading rooms with a separate dining room for you if you’re a ship’s officer. There’s an office with a lady on the phone and the light shades have little anchors hanging from them.

Have a look around, take your time.
